SecureCom Enterprise Online Backup (powered by Asigra) is a backup/restore solution that overcomes the limitations of legacy tape systems. It includes all the tools and functions you need to manage your distributed data from one central hub, securely, reliably and efficiently.

In a typical environment a single Client discovers all servers, desktops and laptops connected to the local network and remote sites, automating the backup of all data assets. Before the backup data set is transmitted to your chosen data centre, the software analyses the data, finds new and changed files, eliminates duplicate files and further compresses and encrypts the residual bytes to ensure the backup set is as secure and compact as possible.

Bare Metal Restore - Any disaster that destroys a system requires a bare metal restore to ensure the minimum downtime & disruption to your business. Once new hardware has been configured with a fresh operating system of the same family as the original computer, you can then restore the complete system including: data, profiles, registry & system state, programs & service pack files from Local Storage in 15 minutes including one reboot.

Local Storage - The Local Storage module can help address disaster recovery requirements by saving a copy of the latest version of files at a local storage location. If a restore is needed, the file can be quickly restored from the local environment, at LAN speed, without connecting through connecting to your online data vault.

Message Level Restore - In addition to the full Exchange, Novell GroupWise and Lotus Notes backups, we can restore individual e-mails, contacts & calendar items whilst users are logged into their Outlook, Novell or Lotus Notes. As our backup services are incremental, restores can be done on any of the generations stored in the online vault.

Hot Database & Open File Backup - Backups of SQL, Oracle, DB2 & Access databases can be done "Hot" whilst running, allowing you to schedule backups throughout the day without disrupting users. Many of our customers core business data is contained in their data bases so they protect them on an hourly basis. Open files can also be dealt with, so the typical Word and Excel documents can be backed up whilst users are working on them, along with other common applications.

Continuous Data Protection (CDP) - Continuous Data Protection automatically saves a copy of every change made to your data, essentially capturing every version of the file as it is saved. It allows the users or administrators to restore data to any point in time whilst eliminating the risk of losing data during backup windows. Our solution surpasses other providers as scheduled backups and Continuous Data Protection are combined in a single package, giving you complete flexibility.

LAN Discovery - The LAN Storage Discovery module provides useful information by identifying redundancies (duplicate files), determining the number of files that change over time, and calculating the amount of data growth. LAN Discovery reports present this information in a clear and usable manner, allowing you to make an informed decision about which data you wish to protect in the online vault, whilst also dramatically reducing costs.

Backup Technology - Enhanced Security Measures - All of our staff are thoroughly checked prior to employment to ensure the data of our clients and our company is safe. Only a restricted number of senior employees with security clearance are granted access to our data centers, whilst the only employees actually allowed into our fully caged vault are company Directors and Senior Managers who have worked for the company and been in the industry for many years. As you will expect our data centre's have 24 hour security, requiring Photographic ID passes, electronic key fobs and traditional keys ensuring the highest security at all times.

In addition all data stored in our data centre's is in fully encrypted format, as the encryption is carried out by the client in your offices, there is no way we can access or unencrypted your data.

Asigra - Enhanced Software Security - All data communication is encrypted using advanced encryption algorithms AES 128, AES 192, or AES 256 with, all encryption and de-encryption operations done solely by the Client on your site ensuring that everything is encrypted before being transmitted. During the install you select 2 separate encryption keys which can be chosen by 2 different senior employees, Backup Technology do not keep a copy of these (unless you request us to) so there is no way we can access your data.

As an added level of security Backups & Restores can be locked down to specific IP addresses, and Hardware Registration can be activated so that data cannot be restored onto new or different hardware without authorisation.

Asigra - Typical Network Diagram

The connection between DS-Client and DS-System could be any media, as long as it uses TCP/IP. DS-Client software is a CPU-intensive application, performing delta processing, compression and encryption using the AES or DES algorithm. A faster CPU and sufficient memory on the DS-Client host results in a quicker backup/restore operation. Furthermore, the bandwidth used between the DS-Client and the DS-System can be optimized with the Bandwidth Throttling function, controlled by the Service Provider. As the diagram below illustrates, only one instance of the DS-Client software can protect data residing in numerous servers and workstations across the network.
